About Dr. Berman


Dr. Berman is board certified in adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has completed psychoanalytic training at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. In addition to private practice, she remains on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry of both the New York Presbyterian and Columbia Presbyterian Hospitals, where she teaches, supervises, and mentors medical students, residents, and psychoanalytic candidates. Prior to being in private practice, she was a fulltime faculty member at the Payne Whitney Clinic at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She completed her residency in Psychiatry at Cornell's Payne Whitney Clinic of New York Presbyterian Hospital following an internship in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She attended medical school at Cornell University, and she obtained her BA degree from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences. She currently holds a position in the Association for Psychoanalytic Medicine, chairing the committee on Careers, Identity, and Practice. She is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
